Do Something Different in 2010

22 January, 2010 14:09

Hello there

Let me introduce myself, roadie enthusiast working for Sustrans (UK's leading Sustainable Transport Charity), based in the Biology building on University Park.

Sustrans is working in partnership with the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Nottingham City Council, Cycling England and The Big Wheel to deliver Ucycle Nottingham, a project that will enable students and staff to become more physically active by walking and cycling as part of their daily lives.

Our aim is to double cycling levels at the University and through our next awareness raising campaign we are encouraging people to pledge to Do Something Different in 2010.

Whether you are already a keen cyclist or a complete beginner, you can still make a pledge. If you cycle already, why not encourage a housemate to get out and cycle or pledge to put those extra training miles in.

Make you pledge here: https://survey.sustrans.org.uk/pledge

It only takes 2 minutes!

Staff and students who make a pledge will be given a free gift and will be entered into a free prize draw to win a £150 bike shop voucher, food hampers, vouchers for local entertainment venues and various bike accessories. There will also be a series of Cycle to Work/Uni days in March/April to celebrate everyone’s hard work.

Right, that's all from me. Any questions to do with the pledge or anything else (Ie. improvements with university cycling facilities or report a problem) then feel free to get in touch with us at ucyclenottingham@sustrans.org.uk

Visit www.sustrans.org.uk/ucyclenottingham for more information

Thanks and sorry for the long spiel,

Andy
