Campus Freeride/cheeky street blast

24 January, 2010 16:48

On account of the fact i have my new bike im up for doing a bit of a streetesque blast sometime this week, anyone interested?

any bike welcome, we'll find drop and painful things for the DHers to do, and the XCers/roadies can stay in shape by helping us push the bikes up any and all hills.

Yes :D

Let me know times and stuff.

24 January, 2010 20:57

Well up for this.

We need to do the Campus DH thing at some point. Sort out some sort of route from the top of campus and race to the island or something, there's some pretty grnarr drops about campus here and there (eg. off the terrace on the lake side of the Trent building)

Do it 4x style, so actual race instead of timed. It'll be br00tal!

I've got a bit of a route in mind for some campus dh.

when are you thinking for campus freeride sesh.
I'm definately gonna nail the trent drop.

27 January, 2010 15:27

If you do the trent drop get someone to film it please, I spent all last year eyeing that up and deciding I didn't have the balls or talent for it.

Me and Dave 'we don't speak his name around these parts' Soden planned out two relatively decent routes starting at LASS and ending in the bowl outside the cafe at the end of the lake. It can go a couple of ways

whens the best time to do this though?

i mean i didnt make any of them last semester so would need advice....

+ we need to choose optimum time to avoid security.

27 January, 2010 21:43

We used to do it about 5ish, though maybe not best in the dark.

Wednesday afternoon is relatively dead on campus.

I've been checking out the rock garden near architecture for ages, there's an awesome route through there without a doubt.

28 January, 2010 10:05

I always looked at that, it looks pretty good. It's not bad in the dark, everywhere except down by the lake is fairly well lit. Just be careful that security don't get arsey about lights if you do go in the dark, they once threatened to charge me £15 a light

28 January, 2010 15:25

I'm still pretty new to a lot of technical type stuff but I've been playing on the steps and stuff...so should be up for it as long as its at a time that works for me :)

28 January, 2010 18:34

went and had a look at the rock garden today, there's at least one nice, steep, tight, rocky line down from the top. With a little imagination might be able to make it work in a fun from the woods behind too.

29 January, 2010 00:51

that should be "run"......not fun :P

29 January, 2010 13:06

sounds sick, lets do this

whens everyone up for it then? lets just set the time and go do it.

29 January, 2010 16:22

Whenever man. This weekend?

I'll make time for it :D

29 January, 2010 21:59

30 January, 2010 11:25

Good for all?

30 January, 2010 19:38

I'm not about tomorrow (i spend too much time not being about)
any chance you could give me a rough idea of route so i can have a play when I've got some time on my hands?

31 January, 2010 12:07

If anyone is going, give me a text on 07756505642 so I don't end up sat about like a lemon waibig for people......if nobody texts, I'll probably not go. Likewise if your there and I'm not, let me know and I'll come and meet ya.

31 January, 2010 12:24
