Racers Guild

03 February, 2010 16:57

While campus freeriding today we were chatting and were thinking about getting involved in the next racers guild races down at Cannock (Tevans informs me that it's on the 20th/21st, can anyone confirm?).

This is more casual timed DH practice than anything else, not serious at all, just good fun. If we can get a few people together who're up for it, we'll take a van along. It'll only be a few quid and this time Himsworth won't be driving :D

Obviously for this DHers get priority, but any XCers are welcome, the tracks are pretty tame and it'll be a good chance to compare your times.

Signy uppy here!

Its on the 20th. Type 'racers guild' into google and find the forum/info from there. Places are limited to 100 on a 1st come 1st serve basis.

03 February, 2010 21:37

How quick will the places usually go?

03 February, 2010 22:13

Not very. If you arrive 10ish, hit up some tracks, ride the actual track a bit and generally get ready you'll be good when they sign in about 11.30 or so.

03 February, 2010 22:23

Ah riiiiight, I thought you meant you have to sign up in advance on the forum or something. That shouldn't be an issue.

I'm guessing it's quite a bit busier than normal on guild days.

04 February, 2010 07:35

I think I will attend, seesya there

04 February, 2010 08:29

Yes please, I'll be there!

04 February, 2010 14:07

Ill be up for this, but me and reuben will need lifts from SB please :)

04 February, 2010 16:10

I really hope it's Balboa, I'll be very slightly disappointed with any other outcome.

04 February, 2010 16:52

ill give it a go

04 February, 2010 18:03

Dan, Will you be driving over there? If so, would you be willing to give take people in your car if we sort a van out? You'll obviously be reimbursed for petrol and the trouble.

04 February, 2010 19:43

Yes. If you can take my bike I can take 4 of you. When I know the exact start time and track i'll let you know. That'll dictate what time I leave here.

04 February, 2010 20:00

That's great! I'll look into sorting out the van and finding a driver for that, really has to be Simon or Fred I think. Cheers Dan.

So we can take 8 people in total:

Dan
Me
Lewis
Ally
Tevans (I think)
Reuben

2 places left but we do need a van driver in that so really it's just 1......unless Ally or Tevans can drive the van?

04 February, 2010 20:21

If theres still spaces i'll come along and do the xc routes.

05 February, 2010 16:06

yeah im in man

07 February, 2010 22:29

I was just thinking that I might come along on this one if I can get enough work done in the next couple of weeks, but I see you don't want my driving skillz.

That said, if you do find a driver, and if I can make it, then I can bring another car if there's any more interest. I'd be XCing.

08 February, 2010 01:11

I was only kidding after the slight detour last time :D

Everyone is welcome! If you fancy taking your car that'd be great as it means we can take a load more....there'll be room in the van for the bikes fo sho.

09 February, 2010 21:16

id be up for it. still any space?

12 February, 2010 21:19

Spoke to Harry. No news on the track yet. They are keeping that a secret. However i'm pretty sure it'll kick off at 11.30ish. Meaning, it'd be good to arrive about 10. Later

Is anyone intending to ride the XC that day? Himsworth? I'm trying to get a lift off Andy (who came with me last time) as my car is in for a fixin', but he's only an xc boy isn't it?

17 February, 2010 17:09

I was planning on riding xc that day if theres still space? Be good to have a few xc people.

17 February, 2010 19:37

Sorry, turns out I can't make this.

18 February, 2010 15:25

No problem John, if nobody else can drive then this will remain a DH trip. If anyone else can drive some of the XC riders, then please let me know so I can send out an email.

Guys, with the weather conditions the way they are at the chase there is a chance the RG day will be postponed.

This is due to the fact that the ambulance etc needs to access the top and bottom of the site - this can't happen in the snow.

There is to be an inspection tonight and a judgement made.

I am still keen to drive over tomorrow for a session if this happens.

I will post here and call Tevans with the verdict as soon as I am told.

Pray for sun in Rugeley people!

19 February, 2010 15:34

I'm still keen to go too if it is cancelled, and there is still someone to drive!

Cheers
