We were approached at Freshers' Fair by a woman representing Framework, a Nottingham-based homeless charity. They're organising a ride in aid of the homeless.

Here's the site: http://www.bikefest.org.uk/

Here is the eshot:

"On Saturday 22nd October 2011, Framework – the East Midlands leading homelessness charity, based in Nottingham – is appealing to local people to "get on their bikes" to raise money for some of the region’s most vulnerable local people.

Bike Fest! is for cyclists of all ages and abilities and is part of Raise the Roof, a month long music, arts and performance festival which celebrates 10 years of Framework and raises funds to support Framework’s Anniversary Appeal.

You can register now by choosing your route above, or by visiting the Bike Fest! website where there is more information.

Our 13-mile ride is suitable for riders of all abilities, mainly taking in cycling routes around Nottingham city.

For experienced cyclists (over-18s only) we have the 80-mile ride, a challenging ride between some of Framework's flagship services, including:

Potter Street in Worksop.

Russell House in Newark.

Sherwood Street in Mansfield."
