Hi all,
After the success of the Cannock trip a while back, we're squeezing in another cheeky trip before term is up. This time round it's for the XCers and roadies, and we're heading to the Peaks, specifically, the Ladybower Resevoir area in the Derwent Valley.
XCers can expect some fantastic technical natural-terrain riding that should make a nice change from the man-made trails of Cannock, and roadies can expect a hilly yet rewarding route with some fast descents. Stunning views guaranteed for all.
The trip is on Sunday 11th December, and the cost will be £10. We'll most likely stop off at a pub on the way back for some grub as we did on the Cannock trip.
Itinerary:
7am - pickup from Tesco Express in Lenton
7:30am - pickup from Trent building pay and display car park on campus. Leave around 8.
9:30am - arrive at Ladybower. Ride.
4pmish - meet back at car park, change, head to the pub.
Evening - arrive back in Notts (at a guess at 7-8pm.)
You will need:
- Bike
- Helmet (compulsory)
- £10 payment, plus money for the pub
- Tubes/pump/spares etc.
- Clean clothes to change into afterwards so you don't soil my car. Or James'. Doubt he cares about his though.
How to sign up:
- Either reply below, or reply to my email (don't do both), say whether you're road or XC.
- There are only 10 places for this one unfortunately (excl. drivers) unless someone can offer a car (hint hint) so get your entry in quick!
Should be a lovely day out; last year's trip was a great success. Hope to see many of you there.
