"Boyes Toyes"???!!!!
It's a special events venue (team building / stag weekends etc): http://www.boyes-toys.com
Yep, get your entries in quick before I start pestering people to be marshalls :-)
Will there be a Singlespeed category?
Looks like I'll have wheels (car) this Summer and am keen on giving these a go. However my geared bike is the equivalent of an overweight smoker with rickets.
Tempted either way.
Chopper
No singlespeed category.
If singlespeeds are faster than geared bikes you'll win your category anyway ;-)
Roll up, roll up! Who's coming along?
Just off J19 of the M1, so not even that far from London...
The course is like a giant pump track! Whoop whoop!
There's even a bar for post race refreshment :-)
*bump*
1 week to go :-)
I'll confirm with extra marshals tomorrow.
How many do you need still btw (count me in).
I'm still deciding but will prob. be there.
I've spotted Ruth's name on the pre-entries.
No Phil or Chris for you to race against though James.
Yep sorry, working today sadly and couldn't make Sherwood Pines 2 weeks ago neither. Hope it went ok Jimbo
JD & random Nttm uni guy - will try to stick photos on tomorrow as it's bed time now - some are ooking good though so hopefully you'll like 'em...
Awesome course Jimbo and great weather too.
A.
Yep, top marks to Jimbo for really making the most of the venue and what ended up being a fantastic course - enough climbing and plenty of 'keep you on your toes' singletrack to balance the grassy field stuff.
Roll on Round 2 in June :-)
Hello, 'random Nttm uni guy' here.
Thanks Andy for posting some pics, looking forward to seeing some more. It was a really nice race though a couple more laps would have been good; it seemed to be over so quickly!
See you at round 2
Not forgetting co-organiser Nadine, who was actually at Nottingham Uni :-)
Midlands XC Round 2 this weekend!
Ruth, James D, Francis and Simon C have all pre-entered! It's going to be a corker :-)
Hello, I just looked at the train times and there is nothing before 3 on Sunday!! Is there anyone leaving from Nottingham in the morning who could give me a lift there? I'm a bit stuck otherwise.
Another quality event from Hampshire-Spearing productions with a course techy enough that some people didn't even start their races! Nice work both & roll on Round 3 (and let's hope that doesn't hurt as much as yesterday did)!
The fun starts now (i.e. we're getting in range of the weather forecasts!)
I'll not jinx it by quoting them yet!
(Hopping between threads, that was meant for the MM one!)
I can't believe my eyes!

LOL, you need to get some marshalls who can stay on their bikes!
So, did round 3 hurt more than round 2?
Hell yeah, I haven't run since February and there was a fair bit of it in those conditions!
Just the Pines to go then... more flat XC course pain, great! ;-)
The Pines may be the flattest course of the series, but there'll still be some climbs :-)
Mwah ha ha ha!
Due to popular request, singlespeed category added to the race at Sherwood Pines :-)

Who's coming racing this weekend and who's chicken? :-)
I spy James, Ruth and Ant on the pre-entry list.
Is Andy "fall off on the bends at Cannock" Robson coming? ;-)
Yep. Simon and Phil G too :-)
Hey Jimbo,
I don't know if you got my text message, my phone kicked the can before you texted about the peaks spin last weekend... sorry I cant make it to the event this weekend, just too much going off at the moment. Hope the event is a success! Good luck to all the nubikers... its a cracking course, just right for a gentle Sunday afternoon spin!! :)
Stuart
No worries Stu, we'll let you enjoy your hangover in peace :-)
