London to Paris 16th-19th October
Word up everyone! Amit and I are planning a mission across the border to Paris over the 16th-19th of October. Departing on Friday morning from Amit's house, we'll set off on our bikes to Dover, catch the ferry to France, pedaling for another two days to Paris. It's about 250 miles and we reckon that's doable in 3 days with paniers. We're planning on stopping in hostels, B&Bs, or hotels and spending the day in Paris before getting the Eurostar back. There's a little more planning to be done yet but that's the gist of it. Anyone else up for it?
We've got the Friday and Monday off work and so far the cost with a bike is looking something like this:
£16 Ferry from Dover to somewhere in France
£120 Three nights accomodation at ~£40
£80 Eurostar return to London St Pancras
=£216
+food
My connections from up North are:
Warrington Bank Quay to London Euston 15-Oct 18:19 20:13 £15
London Euston to Warrington Bank Quay 19-Oct 21:10 23:12 £11
=£26
So what do you say? Anyone else coming along?
Oh yeah, the ferry might be £10. Or even cheaper if we go after 10pm.
Sounds ace but bit short notice for me... enjoy though and I look forward to the photos!
Piss off ;-)
Actually sounds great but I'm on half-marathon support duty for Claire that weekend. Have fun.
Sounds ace, shame I don't have enough annual leave left!
